There are many, many Gary Numan fan sites out there on the WWWeb. The question is: why did I decide to make my own? The answer is simple... those other sites are true FAN sites. They tend to take their roles as disseminators of information very seriously. It works just fine for the social types who enjoy interacting in that intense a manner, but for me, well...

I've never belonged to a fan club of any sort - that's just not my style. I am a casual collector, and decided to put the information that is readily available up for other casual collectors. My site was designed to provide a personal perspective - my own. I'm not into the whole invasion of privacy thing that true FANS can fall into. I just like the guy and his music.

One could say that being a Gary Numan fan in "rural" Ontario, Canada (i.e. not in Toronto) is a tough thing. There's been no airplay since the mid-1980's (except 'Cars' during retro 80's programs), and, up until last year, no reliable retail distribution of product. Fortunately, stores that offer used albums (and other musical things) tend to have at least one kind-hearted soul who pities Numanoids and lets them know when something interesting comes in. Of course, with the easy access to all things Numan from NuWorld, Gary's official website, it's easy to get the stuff you need.

I'm often asked why I became a die-hard fan of Mr Numan's work in the late 1970's, and still am to this day. That's easy. Style and Substance; his music and lyrics have it, and so does the man himself. Hence the name of this site.
